Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Young Inventor Experimenting

Boston Makers & Innovators Challenge (BMIC) is a youth STEM and creativity competition dedicated to inspiring the next generation of problem-solvers, inventors, and makers. We believe that every child has the potential to create meaningful solutions when given the tools, time, and space to explore their ideas.

Our mission is to bring together students from across the Greater Boston area to design, build, and showcase innovative projects that highlight critical thinking, creativity, and hands-on learning. Through maker challenges, engineering tasks, and team-based problem solving, we aim to spark curiosity and encourage students to dream big.

BMIC is created and organized by STEM Together, in collaboration with local educators, community partners, and industry supporters. Together, we strive to provide an accessible, inclusive, and supportive environment where kids can learn new skills, gain confidence, and connect with a community of young innovators.

Whether a student loves engineering, coding, design, robotics, or simply making things with their hands, BMIC offers a place to explore passions and discover new possibilities.

Join us as we build a community where every young maker can imagine, create, and innovate.

Our Story

The Boston Makers & Innovators Challenge began with a simple idea: give kids a place to create, build, and share their imagination. What started as a small community initiative quickly grew into a collaborative effort supported by families, educators, and local partners.

We created BMIC to inspire young makers through hands-on challenges that spark curiosity, confidence, and creative problem-solving. Today, our event brings students from across Greater Boston together to learn, collaborate, and celebrate the joy of innovation.
